Hazel’s brother, rather recently, attended a viral podcast interview, speaking of the mysterious circumstances surrounding his sister’s preservation. The host was a popular conspiracy theorist with specialized knowledge of The Majestic Twelve, a cult of state-allied aliens from distant skies with undetectable bio-signatures who reputedly govern the order of our world. The host claims that he has had access to the Majestic’s HQs in Washington when he flew over there to buy part of the corpse of Nostradamus at an upmarket auction market. Apparently, bits of his embalmed body were going for sale to the highest bidder. He returned with a small money bag of gnarly fingernails.
The host shocked his loyal audience and the watching world with impressive insider knowledge about Hazel’s remains. Although he didn’t divulge the location of her leftovers, he did, apart from quip jokes about whether her brain was frozen or pickled, reveal startling information pertaining to the purpose of such hi-tech safeguarding. The resulting fervour on web forums had experts and professionals confirming exactly what the host was saying. Some of the comments backing him up were from retired classified officials, most of whom remained anonymous.
Much of the written responses were dismissed as Chinese whispers. The brain was rumoured to be the control unit of England’s first artificially intelligent robot soldier. It’s electro-chemical signals provided the governing principles for the computational algorithms running the pioneering machine. They called the unit HaL-Matic. There were legitimate videos of it however on YouTube performing backwards somersaults off a washing machine, and landing upright on its feet every time. It was seen unsticking wet pages of newspapers, dealing playing cards, and making tobacco roll-ups in the outdoors in the rainy wind. It’s existence could not be disputed. It’s existence could not be disputed.
The robot made the covers of Time and Vanity Fair magazines. Wherever the robot was, members of Hazel’s fanbase were never far behind, breathing life into the yarns about her grey matter's powers.
